Joya Landis - Moonlight woman

Joya Landis es el mejor ejemplo del "one hit wonder" dentro del early reggae, aunque solo saco un puñado de singles, su tema "moonlight lover" es uno de los mayores clasicos del reggae de los 60, y sin embargo, encontrar cualquier tipo de informacion sobre ella en internet es practicamente imposible (joder, para conseguir fotos de ella tuve que pedir ayuda a Shanty town!) Me gustaria acompañar este recopilatorio con una pequeña biografia sobre Joya Landis, pero desgraciadamente no encontre nada sobre ella.

The Amonites

Los Amonites eran una banda de 2 tone procendente de Brighton. Fundados a finales de los 70, mezclaban ska con powerpop, dando pie a un "ska-pop" unico. Solo grabaron unos pocos temas, en mayoria versiones de reggae y ska clasico, todas bastante raras y dificiles de encontrar. En mi opinion, son la mejor banda de 2 tone "underground" de Inglaterra

The Specials - In studio

Ultimo disco de los Special AKA antes de su disolucion en el 84. Con la formacion original cambiada, el grupo intentaba alejarse un poco del 2 tone para acercarse al reggae. Aunque las ventas del disco fueron algo pobres (si lo comparamos con discos anteriores), el tema Free Nelson Mandela alcanzo el noveno puesto en las listas britanicas y popularizo el movimiento Anti-Apartheid en Inglaterra
